Yummy pickle recipes with yogurt

The one way to keep the body cool during summers is to include and eat as many foods as possible that keep the body heat low. One such food is yogurt. Many though know its value keep it away due to the fear of putting on weight, which actually is just myth. If you are also under such myth, it is high time you come away from that and include yogurt in your daily menu. In case you don’t like it, here are few recipes to try using yogurt. Here we go with yogurt pickles recipes.

1) Yogurt snake gourd pickle:

Ingredients needed:

•    1 cup of yogurt

•    1 cup of snake gourd pieces

•    1 teaspoon of ginger paste

•    1 teaspoon of mustard seeds

•    1 or 2 green chilies

•    Pinch of Turmeric powder

•    1 teaspoon of Black gram

•    2 dry chilies

•    2 tablespoons of oil

•    Required amount of salt

•    Required amount of curry leaves and coriander

Preparation method:

  • Take a sauce pan and fry black gram, mustard seeds and dry chilies
  •  Next add ginger paste, green chilies and fry for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Add curry leaves, turmeric powder, sour gourd pieces and salt. Mix them well.
  • Add a little amount of water and boil on low flame.
  • Once the ingredients are boiled well, remove it from the stove.
  • Allow it to cool, add curd and serve.

2) Yogurt coconut pickle:

Ingredients needed:

•    1 cup of fresh grated coconut

•    1 cup of yogurt

•    1 or 2 pieces of green chilies

•    1 or 2 pieces of dry chilies

•    1 teaspoon of mustard seeds

•    ½ teaspoon chili powder

•    ½ teaspoon of ginger grate

•    1 teaspoon of black gram

•    1/4th teaspoon of Turmeric powder

•    2 teaspoons of oil

•    Required amounts of salt and curry leaves

•    Required amount of coriander

Preparation method:

  • Make coconut paste using mixer.
  • Add oil to sauce pan and fry black gram and mustard seeds.
  •  Once they are fried well add ginger, green chili and dry chili and fry well.
  • After a while add turmeric powder and curry leaves and fry for 2 minutes.
  • Now take the saucepan off the stove and allow it to cool.
  • Take a bowl and add coconut paste, yogurt, salt and chili powder. Mix them well.
  • Take the cooled mix and pour it into a bowl. Mix all of them well.
  • Garnish with coriander and serve.
