You can as well cook brown rice in electric rice cooker, pressure cooker or for that matter in a utensil. Here are the healthiest ways to cook brown rice so that you don’t lose the nutritions in it.

How to cook brown rice in pressure cookers?

1) First and foremost wash the brown rice with water and next soak them for 45 minutes in hot water.

2) The pressure cooker lid should be tightly fixed. Don’t let the air escape in gaps.

3) Place brown rice along with required amount of water for boiling and close the covering lid of the cooker tightly.

4) Boil on low flames till the water gets evaporated.

5) Once you are sure it has been boiled well. Off the flames and allow it to stay as such for 10 minutes. And it is ready for your consumption.

1) First and foremost wash the brown rice with water and next soak them for 45 minutes in hot water.

2) If you wish to cook one cup of brown rice add nearly 21/2 to 3 cups of water. You should double the ratio for each increased cup of brown rice. Say for instance, if it is 2 cups then take 5 to 51/2 cups of water.

3) Take rice along with water and place it in cooker. Turn the cooker to cooking mode and you will get healthy cooked brown rice.

How to cook brown rice in utensils or bowls?

The biggest drawback to cook brown rice in normal kitchen bowls is, it will take much time to get cooked or boiled. So you will land up using more gas than needed. But still you can follow few techniques to cook so that you get healthy brown rice and also save on gas bill.

1) Soak the brown rice in water for 4 hours before you wish to cook.

2) The other best way to reduce the time for cooking brown rice is to soak the rice for overnight in water.

3) Now take 2 times more water than the brown rice quantity and boil it on stove.

4) Once it starts boiling reduce the flames and cover the bowl with lid.

5) Once the water gets evaporated off the stove and place the bowl aside.

Follow these three ways of cooking or else you will lose the value of brown rice.
